The Nether Barr Steading.

Beautifully situated, self-contained holiday lodges within the old farm steading complex at Nether Barr Farm, Newton Stewart.

This will be our base for the post-rally Scotland Trip from 26th to 31st August, 2012*.

Nether Barr Steading is a fine stone built courtyard steading that has been converted into six self-catering lodges. Set in 15 acres of farmland elevated above the River Cree, the Nether Barr enjoys magnificent views towards the Galloway Hills.

Nestled in a peaceful area of Galloway yet within walking distance or a short drive from Newton Stewart, the Nether Barr offers tranquil and comfortable accommodation.

The Steading dates back to the 1800’s and was originally the stud farm for Lord Galloway’s estate.

Each lodge offers spacious and comfortable accommodation within a traditional exterior.  Doors to the lodges lead off the central gravelled courtyard.

Each lodge has been individually designed to enhance the natural charm of the building.  The living areas are open plan incorporating lounge/dining area/kitchen, allowing the rooms to have a light and airy feel whilst making the most of available space.

The kitchens are fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
The lounge areas have a CD player and colour television with text.
All bathrooms have a shaver point and a shower and/or bath. Linen (except for cots) and towels are provided.
Maid service available.

There is plenty of parking available and guests are free to wander around the 15 acres of farm land.
Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement but dogs must be kept on a lead.

We have a packed week planned for this trip, with some of the most beautiful scenic biking roads in the country to explore.  Information on the proposed rides and routes will be published as soon as details are finalised.

We may be able to take one day out from biking, and travel as foot passengers on the fast catamaran ferry from Cairnryan, for a day-trip to Belfast.  This is an opportunity to explore Belfast fair city and sample the atmosphere (and Guinness) in some of the hostelries.  Oh, and there may be a chance to do some shopping too!!

The price for this tour has been held at the 2007 rate of £100.00 per person for the five-night* stay!

*Anyone wishing to take part in the Scotland trip but NOT attending either The Palatine Rally (Eng III) or The Gathering of the Clans (Sco I, II & III) would be entitled to stay from Saturday 25th August and/or depart on Saturday 1st September - at no extra cost!

A non-returnable deposit of £50 per person is required on booking, with the £50 p/p balance due before 31st July 2012.

Payments can be made by cheque or PayPal (PayPal payments will incur an additional £10 charge per transaction, not per person).

Spaces this year are extremely limited so please book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
